Terms of Service

Effective: 1 June 2022

By accessing our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws.

If you do not agree with any of these Terms, your must stop using or accessing the Service.

Definitions

  • Content: User-generated content on the Service.
  • Our Intellectual Property: Our copyrights, trademarks, domains, logos, trade dress, patents, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Quota: A usage quota or rate limit for a resource on our Service.
  • Service: The Epi websites, apps, services, and products.
  • Suggestions: Any feedback, ideas, comments, enhancement requests, recommendations, or suggestions for Epi.
  • Team: An organisational unit in Epi Business.

Minimum age

Per United Kingdom law, you must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By agreeing to these Terms, you are informing us that you are over this age.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. The courts of the United Kingdom have sole jurisdiction over these Terms.

Ownership

You: You own your individual Content. These Terms do not grant us any rights to that Content, except for the rights that we need to run the Service.

Your Team: If you are part of a Team, the Team owns its respective Content. These Terms do not grant us any rights to that Content, except for the rights that we need to run the Service.

Us: We own the Service, any Suggestions we are given, and all of Our Intellectual Property associated with it.

Licence

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, and non-transferable licence to use our Service, subject to and in accordance with these Terms. This licence is for the sole purpose of enabling you to use our Services in the manner permitted by these Terms.

You may not sell, resell, copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer, or create derivatives of our Service’s software.

You may not remove the copyright notice, or any other proprietary notice, from our software.

You may not use any of Our Intellectual Property unless you have our express written permission.

Privacy

Your usage of our Service, and our usage of your data on the Service, is governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Security

You: You acknowledge that your end-to-end encrypted Content and end-to-end encryption keys are only accessible by you, and people whom you share these with. We cannot recover these for you. Please keep an independent backup of important data. Please use a strong and unique password for Epi which only you know. Please contact us immediately if you think your account has been compromised.

Us: We will take reasonable steps to protect your data that we hold. We will take reasonable steps to respond to your security-related enquiries.

Acceptable use

You are liable for your usage of the Service and any Content that you upload within it. You agree:

  • Not to use the Service for any illegal purposes.
  • Not to distribute malware or other malicious software on the Service.
  • Not to interfere with or subvert the normal and correct operation of the Service. (This includes any hacking activities, such as DoS attacks.)
  • Not to circumvent your allocated Quotas on the Service.
  • Not to send us false abuse reports.
  • Not to impersonate somebody else on our Service.
  • Not to send any mass mails, spam, chain letters, or similar communications, through the Service.
  • Not to use the Service to transmit any content which is libellous or defamatory.
  • Not to use the Service to transmit any content where the tone is objectionable or threatening.

We may decide to provide exemptions to these Terms for legitimate security researchers. Please read our Vulnerability Disclosure Program policy for more information.

Quotas

Some aspects of our Service are controlled by Quotas.

If you exceed the Quota for some resource, we may restrict your access to that resource, until you reduce your usage of that resource to fit within the Quota. (For example, you may have to delete excess instances of that resource.)

Warranty

In this section, “The Materials” means the Service, the Content on the Service, and any other materials that we provide to you.

The Materials are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in connection with the Materials or the use or other dealings in the Materials.

The presence of any particular Content on our Service does not imply that we endorse it.

Termination

You: You may choose to terminate your account at any time.

Your Team: If you are part of a Team, your Team administrator(s) may choose to terminate the respective Team plan at any time. (Your individual account, and other Teams you may be part of, will be unaffected.)

Us: We may choose to terminate or suspend your account in the following cases:

  • If you violate these Terms.
  • If we cannot authenticate your provided information.
  • If you could subject us, our affiliates, or any third party to liability.
  • If you are more than 60 days late on any payment (including any subscription fees).
  • If you become the subject of any bankruptcy, dissolution or similar proceeding.
  • If we must comply with applicable laws, or the final court order of a competent judicial body.

You: When you use our Service, you agree to be bound by the current version of these Terms at that time. You should review these Terms periodically to see the latest updates.

Us: We may update these Terms at any time without notice.
